LOST Tests Peace Building Curriculum

On three consecutive Thursdays in July (11th, 18th, and 25th), the Lebanese Organization of Studies and Training conducted testing material workshops of its newly designed curriculum on Peace Building.

Twenty trainers from LOST’s four branches attended these workshops in order to test and try out the organic combination of the theoretical aspect of the curriculum created by the Peace Building Unit at LOST and the practical dimension facilitated by feedback and input received from local experts in the field of peace building.  Chapters were discussed in details in an interactive approach. Objectives, procedures, and outputs of each chapter were assessed in a learning by doing environment examining what would work, what wouldn’t, and how to improve. LOST documented every kind of feedback to be reflected upon at a later stage by the expert and the hired consultant. Graphic designer who is responsible to put the final touch on the curriculum was also present in these workshops, which could help in the design.

After being revised, proofread and edited, this curriculum will serve as a reference guide in the field of peace building available at the PBU library. LOST will also train NGOs, educational institutions, and local reconciliation groups operating in the region on how to utilize the curriculum.
