Celebrating Teachers’ Day at LOST-Baalbeck

The Lebanese Organization of Studies & Training (Academy of Active Citizen 7) celebrated in collaboration with OTI- Lebanon the Teachers’ day at Tammouz- Hall Baalbeck on March 24, 2012 in the presence of Dr. Ahmad Diab, the general director of technical and vocational teaching and the general director of the internal security forces represented by General Maarouf Harb, in addition to more than 400 teachers and several social figures.

After the Lebanese Anthem, Mr. Ahmad El Sahili from LOST welcomed the audience and explained the essential role of teachers in raising civic consciousness among young generations. After Mr. Sahili’s welcoming note, Dr. Ramy Lakkis, the founder of LOST delivered a speech in which he addressed the teachers of Baalbeck- Hermel saying: “We highly estimate your crucial role in educating youth and developing our society”. This event is a part of the Academy of Youth program that LOST is implementing in its four branches in Baalbeck-Hermel.

In his turn, Dr. Ahmad Diab stressed on the active role of teachers in building the personalities of youth and enhancing their activism. Dr. Diab affirmed that improving work and training skills is a significant factor in the social, economic educational development, indicating that the Lebanese cabinet is working on a draft law related to the development of technical and vocational teaching in Lebanon.

The event ended by presenting a short film prepared by students to pinpoint the various activities of the Youth Academy and distributing flowers to all teachers.
