2000 Youth Run for the Better Image

Under the auspices of HE the Minister of Youth and Sport Mr Faisal Karameh represented by Dr Youssef Shahine, The Lebanese Organization of Studies and Training launched in Baalbeck on Friday 18 May its third race carrying a new slogan “With You, the Image is Better”. More than 2000 persons participated in the event in a joyful environment that was filling almost all the streets of Baalbeck. “It is a special morning, I feel Baalbeck is different today” said a restaurant manager in Ras El Ein Street after seeing hundred of runners crossing happily.

Archbishop Elias Motran kicked off the race of juniors and Dr Shanine and Dr Ramy Lakkis, the founder of LOST, announced the race for the public including runners from ISF.  The race ended with a splendid acrobat show presented by the Lebanese Youth Network, LYN. The Lebanese Association of Students, LAS, offered a marvelous musical show. “It was a day to remember, I really thank LOST for this event and I wish that we have more of such occasions in Baalbeck” commented a youth participant.

The race is organized by the Academy of Youth in LOST and funded by USAID/OTI.
